Thegovernment will facilitate the entry of foreign yachts to Indonesia with thepublication of the Presidential Regulation on foreign passenger ships toIndonesia.
“Theregulation is intended to provide facilities for foreign yachts to visitIndonesia,” Deputy to the Coordinating Economic Minister for Trade and IndustryEdy Putra Irawadi said Friday as quoted by Antara news agency.
He saidthat the regulation would become the legal basis that guaranteed ease of entryfor foreign yachts coming to Indonesia.
Edy said hehoped that the regulation could help encourage investment in Indonesia,especially in the tourism field.
He saidthat he hoped visits by foreign yachts to 18 harbors in Indonesia wouldincrease to 1,000 yachts in 2012 and to 2,000 yachts in 2013, from about 400yachts this year.
